Williams Launches Soccer Fundraiser For Haiti

Robbie Williams is appealing to the British public to take part in a sponsored soccer event to raise money for Haiti, after a recent charity trip to the country left him feeling "humbled".
The Angels hitmaker teamed up with United Nations children's organisation Unicef for the visit, where he met youngsters left homeless by January's (10) earthquake.
He says, "I met children who were injured, who had been separated from their parents and were living in temporary shelters, or on the streets in Haiti. This earthquake hit children the hardest. The children there are so vulnerable, they're living day to day without the basic things they need and are at risk of violence and abuse. I don't know about you, but I think this is wrong and we need to put it right for those children."
The star is using his bi-annual charity soccer tournament, Soccer Aid, in June (10) to raise funds for the charity - and he wants the U.K. public to help him.
He adds, "Everyone knows I'm a massive football fan, and now I'm asking everyone to join me and 'Keep it Up for Soccer Aid'. It's really simple: do as many sponsored 'keepy uppys' (soccer move) as you can and raise bucket loads of money to help make a real difference to the lives of kids all over the world, including the fantastic young people that I met in Haiti.
"Much more needs to be done in Haiti and in many other countries of the world where children need our help. That's why this year's Soccer Aid is more important than ever."
