The second annual Railroad Revival Tour trek across America has been cancelled due to "complications".

Country legend Willie Nelson and Band of Horses were billed to headline the eight-show train-bound festival tour, which was scheduled to begin in Georgia on 20 October (12).

A statement from the organisers reads: "It is with extreme regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2012 Railroad Revival Tour. The decision to do so was a difficult one, but it was determined that certain complications would not permit us to host the shows in the manner intended, and that the bands and fans deserved."

The inaugural Railroad Revival Tour in 2011, which featured Mumford & Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show, was a huge success.
