Will Smith's child star daughter Willow has put her pop career on hold because she wants to pursue a career in ballet.
Willow Smith, 11, stormed onto the music scene in late 2010 when her hit song Whip My Hair tore up the charts and mogul Jay Z signed her to his ultra-exclusive label Roc Nation.
The following spring (11), the budding star opened for Baby hitmaker Justin Bieber on his European tour, but, while her Men in Black star dad Will reveals she had a great time performing for her fans, she just wasn't happy and he and wife Jada Pinkett had to swoop in and cut her planned appearances short.
During an appearance on U.S. programme The Late Show With David Letterman on Tuesday (22May12), he said, "We really tell them (the kids) they are allowed decide what they want, (and) when they want to do it... We were out in the middle of the huge Justin Bieber tour, Willow is out there and it's great, and in the middle of the tour she had an epiphany that she wants to do ballet.
"I look at her and I say, 'Baby, can you do ballet after the tour?' and she said, 'No daddy, I really just love it, I'm so inspired..."
And the movie icon admits she's been honing her dance skills ever since: "She just loves ballet. She's doing ballet all day, everyday and she just loves it."
