Amy Winehouse's father Mitch has spoken of his pride after making the first charity donation in the name of his late daughter.
Mitch Winehouse launched the Amy Winehouse Foundation to benefit organisations supporting vulnerable young people following the star's death in July (11).
Four months on from the singer's passing, Mitch has revealed charity chiefs have handed over $16,000 (£10,000) to Britain's Hopes and Dreams scheme, which fulfils the wishes of terminally ill children.
In a series of posts on his Twitter.com page on Sunday (13Nov11), he writes, "Tonight Amy's foundation gives its first donation. Hopes and Dreams will receive a cheque for £10,000. Hopes and Dreams are a charity that helps terminally ill kids and their families. Great people.
"Amy feels good knowing she has helped lots of kids tonight."
