Xzibit Calls For A Stop To The Hate Mail
LATEST: Rapper Xzibit has pleaded with fans to stop posting abusive messages on the ROVE website following the hip-hop star's brief appearance on the Australian TV show, because it has gotten "out of hand".
The rapper, currently on tour in Australasia, was invited to perform an unlikely rap duet with Canadian crooner Michael Buble on the Aussie evening show hosted by TV personality Rove MCManus.
But the star - real name Alvin Nathaniel Joiner IV - stormed off the Melbourne set before filming began because he wanted to perform solo.
Furious Xzibit then wrote on his MySpace page under the subject heading 'Rove the racist', but later insisted he was referring to the show and not to the presenter himself.
And he is now urging his fans to put an end to the hate mail which has been bombarding the Rove website.
Writing on his MySpace webpage, Xzibit says, "Stop! This s**t has been blown way outta sorts. Just because these f**kin d**kheads are banging on the internet on my MySpace page does not make it cool to go on his websites and do the same thing. If you read what they are writing it seems to explain itself people. These people are living in a bubble, this is the last thing I'm going to say about it, a lot of people have no facts from either Rove or myself so all this hear say has fuelled 19 some articles in major media outlets. Not only has this brought a lot of ugly s**t out of a lot of otherwise "normal" people but it has left me thinking about the media spin on everything that has to deal with this whole issue. Leave Rove's site alone, or you are as lame as the people sending hate thru' mine."
