Yes - Yes Fans Pledge Donations To Cover Pete Banks' Funeral Costs
The body of former Yes guitarist Pete Banks is set to be released for a funeral after fans donated cash to help with paperwork problems.
The rocker passed away at his home in London earlier this month (Mar13) but left no immediate kin and, as his ex-wife Cecilia Quino was reluctant to step forward to sign for his remains, the body could not be released by the coroner.
His manager George Mizer launched a PayPal.com appeal to raise funds to complete the necessary paperwork and to cover funeral arrangements and Banks' fans rallied round to support the late musician.
Mizer, who also put a selection of rare Banks albums on auction website eBay.com to generate more cash, reveals the musician's former partner has now signed the papers and he expects the body to be released later this week (begs18Mar13).
He tells SomethingElseReviews.com, "I believe the problem with Ceci, Pete's ex-wife, was that she was in shock and disbelief. The fans have been great with donating a few bucks to help with the arrangements."
