You Me At Six - You Me At Six Star Franceschi Fuming Over Fans' Tweets
You Me At Six frontman Josh Franceschi has angrily lashed out at fans for bombarding his ex-girlfriend with cruel tweets following their split.
The British rocker recently broke up from his unnamed lover, and seemingly took a swipe at her during a gig at London's O2 Academy Brixton on Tuesday (03Apr12) before introducing the band's track Reckless.
He told the crowd, "(At the age of 21) everyone is too young to have a serious girlfriend."
The quip prompted a barrage of abuse aimed at his former partner on the social networking site, and Franceschi took to his own Twitter.com account to lambast the behaviour of those responsible.
He writes, "I'm only going to say this once and I hope the minority it's about, take note. The speech I was making on tour before Reckless has nothing to do with my ex. Me and her ended things on amicable terms. So people sending her s**t is a) pathetic and b) wrong. As I said, it's the minority. But to those of you who have been doing this, please don't get involved in my private life. No need."
He later added on a video blog, "I have absolutely no idea why anyone out there would deem it necessary or acceptable to send horrible s**t to my ex girlfriend, and to bombard her with negativity but let me make something very clear - people doing this, this isn't cool, isn't you being 'supportive' and certainly isn't what I'd hope from our 'fans'. Some of what you're saying is quite frankly shocking and pretty disgusting and you should be ashamed of yourselves. Rant over. Back the f**k off."
