Young Jeezy - Young Jeezy Hits Back At Lawsuit
Rapper Young Jeezy has hit back at a lawsuit filed against him by a former business partner.
Demetrius Ellerbee filed a $5 million (£3.4 million) suit against the rapper at the Fulton County Superior Court in Georgia last year (12), accusing him of locking him out of royalties earned from several songs he helped produce and promote for record label Corporate Thugs Entertainment (Cte).
Ellerbee is also seeking a declaratory judgement stating he is the co-owner of Cte, which he claims he founded with Jeezy in 2001 - and therefore is entitled to half of all the firm's earnings.
However, Jeezy, real name Jay Jenkins, has filed his own papers refuting Ellerbee's claims. In legal documents obtained by Tmz.com, Jeezy has denied forming any music companies with him and claims he never entered into any agreements to share half of his profits.
The case is still pending.
