Canadian refugee miniseries HUMAN CARGO has been nominated for an impressive 17 gongs at 19th annual GEMINI AWARDS.

The honours, administered by the ACADEMY OF CANADIAN CINEMA AND TELEVISION, are given to the finest of the country's television productions and will be handed out during three nights of gala ceremonies on 11, 12 and 13 December (04).

Close behind Human Cargo with 15 nominations is CBC legal series THIS IS Wonderland, and the venerable West Coast crime series DA VINCI'S INQUEST has 10.

Last Wednesday (20OCT04), the Academy released a preliminary list of nominees, with a full list appearing on the website GEMINIAWARDS.CA.
