Nick Lachey still has ''a lot to learn'' about having a baby daughter.

The 41-year-old singer-songwriter welcomed baby Brooklyn into the world with his wife Vanessa two months ago but he has admitted he's still finding it difficult to adjust to having a little girl around the house and has no idea how to dress the tiny tot.

Speaking to PEOPLE, he said: ''When it comes time to dress Brooklyn, I still defer to [Vanessa]. The whole dressing thing is tough for me with a little girl. I got a lot to learn about braiding hair and all the things that come into play.''

And Nick isn't the only one who needs to come to terms with having a little girl about the place as the couple's two-year-old son Camden wasn't overly impressed with his little sister initially.

Nick joked: ''He's starting to warm up to the idea. His initial reaction was put her back, put her back in the belly. I don't want any part of this.''

He added: ''Now he's realised that she's here to stay and he's warming to the idea of someone stealing a little bit of his attention.

''He's very concerned when she's crying. He's like, 'Baby Brooklyn crying.' He's already got the older brother instinct [kicking] in, which is good.''
