Actor-turned-playwright and producer Nick Moran is happier now he has turned his back on acting - because life is so much easier behind the scenes.

The LOCK, STOCK AND TWO SMOKING BARRELS star is still acting, but he recently launched TELSTAR, the first play he has written, on London's West End - and he much prefers working 'offstage'.

He says, "If you want to act, troops have to be assembled, buildings have to be soundproof.

"You can't just get up in the morning and act, but you can get up and write - at least you've got some control."
