Canadian rockers Nickelback headed home to top the bill at a flood-relief concert in Calgary on Thursday night (15Aug13).
The band led the line-up of the Alberta Flood Aid concert at the city's MCMahon Stadium to raise money for victims of the flooding which devastated the area in June (13).
Other acts at the show, held in aid of The Calgary Foundation's Flood Rebuilding Fund, included Matthew Good, Tom Cochrane, Corb Lund, Johnny Reid, and the Sadies.
Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi kicked off the concert by thanking the volunteers who took part in the massive clean-up operation, saying, "That citizen covered in mud, and mosquito bites, cut and scraped and bruised, saving the home of someone she doesn't even know. Let's hear it for every single volunteer. Thank you all."
A post on Nickelback's official Twitter.com page, reads, "Honoured to be part of ABFloodAid (sic) tonight! For more information on how to donate please visit Abfloodaid.ca."
