Nicki Minaj on American Idol? We're still waiting for the official word from Nicki Minaj 's management but her appearance as a judge on American Idol looks like a dead cert, according to US Weekly. Two separate sources have confirmed the news to the media outlet and it's looking increasingly likely that the Fox network will confirm the news, one she's signed on the dotted line. One source told US magazine "I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it," one source revealed. "A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening."
The second source told the magazine that Minaj is "100 per cent confirmed to judge American Idol." The Super-Bass rapper is known for her no-holds-barred approach to life and she's certainly not afraid of speaking her mind, so we reckon she'll make a great addition to the American Idol judging panel. It'll also be interesting to see how she gets on with established diva Mariah Carey, who has also taken up one of the judging slots on the show. Fans of the TV talent contest are still waiting to hear who will be taking the third position, though it looks as though Nick Jonas is a firm favourite. Also in the running though, it seems, are Enrique Inglesias, Pharrell Williams and Keith Urban.
Last year's season of American Idol was judged by Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson. After Lopez and Tyler both declined the offer to return this year, it seems that the producers went for a full shake-up, moving Randy to more of a mentoring position and opening up all three judges chairs to newcomers.
