A judge has urged Nicolas Cage's ex-girlfriend Christina Fulton to reach an out-of-court settlement with the actor in a dispute over her Los Angeles home.
Fulton filed a $13 million (£8.1 million) lawsuit against the actor in 2009, claiming Cage bought her a home but failed to officially transfer the property into her name, preventing Fulton from selling off the house.
Cage's lawyer, Marty Singer, previously insisted, "All of these claims are long-time barred by the statute of limitations and are baseless... We expect this lawsuit to be promptly thrown out."
And on Tuesday (14Jun11) Superior Court Judge Teresa Gordon-Sanchez ruled that Fulton couldn't sue Cage for breaching an oral contract and should instead consider reaching an agreement before trial as it would be the "best option for everyone involved".
The National Treasure star and Fulton were both present for the courthouse meeting, according to the Associated Press.
