Nigella Lawson and her husband Charles Saatchi recently moved into their luxury $20 million mansion in Chelsea, west London - but the couple have already discovered flaws in the renovation of the former warehouse, reports the UK's Daily Mail.
Extensive work on upgrading the building yet retaining the 1870 facade proved successful, but the builders failed to fit the bathroom with frosted glass. Neighbours were therefore left red-faced after catching a glimpse of Nigella in a state of undress. One 'observer', said, "It isn't a case of deliberately looking in, but there is a view into the bathroom and anyone glancing in the direction of the loggia from nearby can glimpse what's going on". However, when alerted to the clear windows, the 'domestic goddess' reportedly "hooted with laughter", saying, "I had no idea we were overlooked.Obviously, I will investigate". The property, which Saatchi reportedly paid around $20 million for, is just minutes from the art collector's gallery on the Kings Road in London. Features of the renovation include a gym, a large terrace garden, private underground parking and a courtyard.
One of the most popular food writers in Britain, Nigella Lawson has penned a series of best-selling cookery books, including 'How to Be a Domestic Goddess'. She married Saatchi in September 2003.
