Animal Collective release the first single 'Today's Supernatural' from their forthcoming tenth studio album debuting last night live on the radio.

The Baltimore psychedelia 4-piece will release the track tomorrow (July 31st 2012) ahead of the September release of album 'Centipede Hz'. They launched the song last night on the newly introduced Animal Collective Radio which will broadcast weekly with band members taking turns to host their own show. They are joined on the project by their record label Domino (Arctic Monkeys, Franz Ferdinand, The Magnetic Fields) and The Creators Project.

Their upcoming album serves as their first since 'Merriweather Post Pavilion' in 2009 and since then they have released their imaginative visual album 'ODDSAC' on DVD in 2010. Frontman Brian Weitz (also known as Geologist) told NME that with 'Centipede Hz', they 'went back to [their] roots' with much less sampling than what 'Merriweather.' saw. 'This time we all wanted to write in the same room together', he said.

The band, made up of Geologist, Panda Bear, Deakin and Avey Tare, will also play a 4-show tour in the UK to promote the album, appearing at the following venues: London Roundhouse, Dublin Vicar Street, Glasgow ABC1 and Manchester Warehouse Project.
