Rocker Noel Gallagher's new album will feature an Oasis track he started writing a decade ago.
The British guitarist has yet to release any new material since the Wonderwall hitmakers split in 2009, but earlier this week (06Jul11), Gallagher ended speculation over his music future by announcing plans to release two new projects - and the long-awaited tune Stop the Clocks will be included on the track listing.
Gallagher started composing the tune in 2001, and it was originally due to appear on Oasis' 2004 album Don't Believe The Truth - but the rocker axed the idea after struggling to complete it.
In 2006, he said of the 'lost' track, "There are about 10 different versions and I can’t decide on which one. It’s a good song, the lyrics are great."
His first solo album, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, is scheduled to hit music retailers in October (11).
