Noel Gallagher's wife was the driving force behind his new solo album as she persuaded him to get back to work following the break-up of Oasis.
The British band split in 2009 following a bust-up between Gallagher and his frontman brother Liam, who went on to form new group Beady Eye.
The rocker took an extended break following the dissolution of the band, and has now revealed his wife Sara MacDonald was the one who ordered him to go back to the recording studio.
He tells the Press Association, "To be honest after Oasis I got back to London and sat in my house, smoked cigarettes, drank some tea and watched football - and then it was my wife who said to me: 'When are you going back to work?'
"And I was like, 'Hum'. And she asked, 'When?' and I said 'I don't know'. And she said 'Well what about next week?'. You know what women are like. As long as you're not in their house they like you even better!"
The rocker's debut solo album, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, is released on Monday (17Oct11).
