Noel Gallagher always gets the music questions wrong at parent quiz nights.

The former Oasis star - who has sons, Donovan, seven, and four-year-old Sonny with wife Sara MacDonald and 15-year-old daughter Anais with first wife Meg Matthews - enjoys attending the events but thinks there should be more questions about Britpop to give him a chance.

He said: ''I've been to a couple but the trouble is, I usually get the music questions wrong.

''It's always, 'What was Number 1 for 19 weeks in 1974?' I dunno ... oh, Mungo f***ing Jerry. Which is when everyone on the table looks at me, as if to say, 'I thought you were a musician? 'Yeah, I am, but ask me some questions about Britpop.' ''

But the singer/songwriter is not expecting his children to follow in his footsteps into the music industry because he insists they ''don't care'' what he does as a career.

He added: ''My lads are more into 'Star Wars' than Jimi Hendrix. None of my kdis care about what I do for a living.

''They've never know any different. It's not like I was working at Kwik-Fit one day and the next I won 'Britain's Got Talent'.

''Maybe if One Direction had released [Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds single] 'In The Heat of the Moment' it would have been my daughter's favourite song of all time ... but I'm her dad.''
