Noel Gallagher has made further hints that he is planning to release a solo album in the near future.

The OASIS guitarist and songwriter has speculated in recent months that he will have his own record in the shops before the band complete the follow-up to last year's DIG OUT YOUR SOUL.

Speaking to Josh T Landow on US radio station WXPN, Noel said he has enough solo material written to "cobble an album together".

"I can't put a timescale on it, but it would be great to get them out. I'll get it out sooner or later," he said.

Noel also claimed he is comfortable with the band's current stature, saying: "People either love us or hate us, which is a cool place to be."

Elsewhere, the guitarist recently told the Sun that he used to hang around with Manchester City hooligan firms while he was unemployed.

"I knew all that lot and I still see a few of them today," he remarked.
