Justin Timberlake has revealed Olivia Wilde drew on his experiences with his own mother to play his parent in new movie 'In Time'.
The 27-year-old actress plays the mom of her 30-year-old co-star in the futuristic sci-fi thriller and while Justin thought it was hilarious to have the younger actress playing his parent, Olivia was full of questions about his relationship with his own mother Lynn Harless.
Justin said: "When Olivia and I first started rehearsing for the movie we found it hilarious that she's younger than me and she was playing my mother. I'm glad that it was her because I think she's a great actress, she performed this character with a lot of tenderness and it really shows.
"We sat together and she would ask me 'What would your mother do? How would your mom act in this situation? What would be the subtext of this situation?'"
Meanwhile, their co-star Amanda Seyfried - who plays Sylvia Weis, the love interest of Justin's character Will Salas - revealed she was attracted to the story because of her "badass" character.
Speaking at the UK premiere of 'In Time' at the Curzon cinema in Mayfair, London, she told BANG Showbiz: "She's just kind of badass and fearless. She's in this society where she feels a lack of inspiration and adventure and she's sick of how things are. I read The Script and the story was so strong, I was like, 'I gotta do something like this, it's amazing'.
"Then Justin's character Will comes along and she's attracted to him straight away because he's unlike anyone else she's ever met. It's clear he's not from around there, he's running from a society that nobody wants.
"Even though the storyline is so high concept it actually makes a lot of sense thanks to Andrew Niccol the director. He grounds everything in a way that makes you think."
