Omar Sharif - Omar Sharif Strikes Woman For Cutting Queue?
Omar Sharif could find himself in hot water after allegedly striking a woman in the face, when she became overly persistent in trying to get a photograph with the legendary actor, according to the UK's Daily Mail.
Sharif, now aged 79, was attending the Doha Tribeca Film Festival in Qatar and was posing for a photograph with one woman when another came over hoping for the same, despite there already being a queue of people. Reacting to this, Sharif reportedly raised his hand and struck the woman's face, although the view was obscured by the fan's head; he then, according to a translation, said "My dear! I told you I'd get to you afterwards! I just said that and you're standing here. Put something in your brain!" Gathering his wits about him quickly, he then went over to her and apologised, the pair then having a picture together.
The actor was one of the most acclaimed of his generation, appearing in the classic British films 'Lawrence Of Arabia' in 1962 - earning him a Best Supporting Actor nomination at the Academy Awards - and 1965's 'Doctor Zhivago.' However in recent times he's been more known for his fiery temperament, in 2003 he was convicted of attacking a police man in Paris after losing a 20k bet at a casino. In 2007 meanwhile he pleaded no contest to a battery charge in Beverly Hills after he'd brawled with a parking attendant - being forced to take an anger management class as a result.
