Louis Tomlinson was terrified ahead of a charity football match.

The One Direction star confessed he was ''s***ting it'' before the game at Doncaster Rovers' Keepmoat stadium yesterday (19.04.15) in tribute to attacking midfielder James Coppinger, one of the club's longest-serving players.

Prior to the match - which saw a team headed by Louis go up against a side fronted by Coppinger - the singer tweeted: ''Gonna be a great day today !! Can't wait to play !

''Also massive thank you to @Coppinger26 for inviting me to play!

''What a legend you've been for us Copps ! Massive honour to play !

''S******g it !!''

Although Louis' side eventually lost to Coppinger's eleven, seven goals to four, the 'Kiss You' hitmaker took his Twitter account once again to thank him for the experience of playing alongside his idols.

He wrote: ''Thank you so much lad ! @Coppinger26 ! Hope you had a great day you deserve it ! What a LEGEND for rovers !!

''Wow what a game !! Loved that experience , I've grown up watching most of those lads !! (sic)''

The 23-year-old star is a huge fan of Doncaster Rovers and was reportedly left devastated when his bid to buy the club failed last year.

He said at the time: ''I'm absolutely gutted the Doncaster Rovers deal is not going ahead. I am desperate for the club to be given the recognition it deserves :(''

Meanwhile, Louis was supported at the stadium by his bandmate Liam Payne, who was also spotted taking part in a pre-match penalty shoot out.
