Lee Majors, the 71-year-old American actor and star of the hit series 'The Six Million Dollar Man', is set to appear on 'The Oprah Winfrey show' today (24th November 2010), reports CBS News. Majors will be joined by the country star Garth Brooks, capping off a November of high-profile guests that have included the reunited cast of 'The Sound of Music'.
In 'The Six Million Dollar Man', Majors famously played astronaut 'Steve Austin' who received bionic surgery to save his life after an aircraft disaster. The series was based on the novel 'Cyborg' by MARTIN CAIDIN and became one of the most successful shows of the 1970's. Majors went on to appear in 'The Game', 'Community', and most recently, 'Weeds'. The actor is set to surprise fashion guru Carson Kressley on the show, and Winfrey's website states, "Garth Brooks has us on our feet! Then, Carson Kressley braves the bride wars and gets a Six Million Dollar surprise!".
The current season of 'The Oprah Winfrey Show' will be the last, and the series will end on September 9th 2011 after 25 years on the air. The queen of daytime television says she is planning to front a new evening show entitled 'Oprah's Next Chapter', and will launch her own network, 'The Oprah Winfrey network', early next year.
