British musician Paul Humphreys has given fans a glimpse into his personal life on Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark's new album after penning a track about the troubled relationship he has with his daughter.

Humphreys split from his wife Maureen after their daughter Madeline was born, and was an absent father for parts of her childhood. Now, he has opened up about the experience in the synth-pop duo's track Stay With Me.

His bandmate Andy MCCluskey tells Britain's The Sun, "Stay With Me is a very biographical song. I'd struggled with it and handed it over to Paul, who wrote the vocal and finished it.

"It's a very Omd melody, with lyrics about Paul and his daughter. Paul split with his wife when she was young and it's Paul reflecting on his time as an absent father and the difficulties he and his daughter face."

Stay With Me features on the band's new album English Electric, which is released next week (begs08Apr13).
