Outkast have been named as the first headliners of Bestival 2014.

The hip-hop duo, made up of Andre 3000 and Big Boi, have reunited and will be one of four acts topping the bill at the event on the Isle of Wight from September 4 to 7.

Bestival organiser Rob da Bank said: ''I'm pretty darn excited to announce that OutKast are headlining Bestival this year!

''We've fought hard to get the recently reunited legendary hip-hop duo onto the ferry ... and it's no ordinary ferry this year as Bestival goes Desert Island Disco for 2014. Palm trees, grass skirts and mirrorballs are the order of the day. It truly is gonna be the Bestival yet!''

OutKast are also playing Coachella in California this year, alongside Arcade Fire and Music in April, after reuniting for the first time since 2007.

They plan to perform at 40 live shows, including Florida's Big Guava Festival and Hangout in Alabama in May and New York's Governors Ball in June.

This year is the 20th anniversary of the pair's 1994 debut album 'Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik'.

Big Boi previously said: ''It's truly an honour to celebrate 20 years and still be free to do music the way we choose.

''Don't just think outside the box, know that there is no box. I'm looking forward to rocking the stage with Bro Ski and to all he fans - stank you smelly much, this is for y'all! (sic)''
