A LITTLE 'PATIENCE' GOES A LONG WAY...

Adam Richman is an indie-pop whiz kid who survived a childhood in Allentown, PA by locking himself in his parents' basement with one ear to the radio and the other to a multi-track tape recorder. He has been touring since 2001 and has played close to 400 shows, selling thousands of copies of two DIY albums full of raw emotion and catchy pop hooks out of his car.

Richman's songwriting has always been powerful. Though characteristically friendly, his songs almost always control an accelerated bite, a roughness that's particularly exposed at his live shows. On record, his music is lush and layered, as if there was an

arsenal of rockers behind him. But there isn't. Instead, there is just one young, versatile newcomer, playing every instrument and performing the sonic experiments of producer, engineer and mixer.

Patience and Science offers twelve self-penned tracks -- from the yearning "Baby I've Changed" (among Blender's "20 Must-Have Downloads" in the March issue) to the scandalous "MaryAnne." A talented songwriter with a fantastic sense of melody and potent blend of rock-n-roll sensibility and raw emotion, the multi-talented Richman wrote, played and produced every note on the lush and layered Patience and Science. Performing Songwriter recently priased Richman's music, noting his undeniable talent whether "delivered in a raw, acoustic barrage or an intricately crafted punk-pop masterpieceŠ undeniably catchy yet unfailing clever."

Richman spends about as much time blogging on his computer as he does playing his guitar. The rocker has kept a record of his thoughts online for the past two years and is known to treat longtime fans and new listeners to witty observations on life, music, and just about whatever he feels like. Richman blogs about everything from why everyone should go see his favorite movie of the moment, to not having the courage to go up and talk to his celebrity crush Avril Lavigne to his recommendations for books, CDs and his favorite snacks (Ritz Bitz sandwiches). You can see Adams blogs for his insightfully playful ideas on the world at www.myspace.com/ar.

Richman made his first ever SXSW appearance this past March, and will be hitting the road soon for a full national tour. In the meantime, don't miss Adam Richman when he headlines
Tribeca Rock Club in New York City on April 19.
