Ash vs Republic Commando
Ash release Evil Eye EP online only 11 th April
Ash continue on their passion for all things sci-fi, and particularly the Star Wars universe, with a link up with Lucas Arts on their forthcoming 'Evil Eye' EP which is available to purchase exclusively online.
The title track, lifted from the band's 'Meltdown' album, comes backed with nine live tracks recorded in Vienna last year and also includes the video for 'Clones' - which has been chosen as the introduction music to the latest LucasArts video game 'Star Wars: Republic Commando' and has been re-edited to include brand new game footage. Star Wars: Republic Commando is a squad based first person shooter that lets you explore the elite world of the Star Wars Military. Set in time period between Episode II: Attack of the Clones and leading into Episode III: Revenge of the Sith , the game covers both new and familiar environments. Players will engage in challenging combat against such enemies as Super Battle Droids, Droidekas whilst also facing the powerful bodyguards of Episode III's new villain, General Grievous, the leader of the Separatist armies. Star Wars: Republic Commando is available now on Microsoft’s Xbox entertainment system and PC
The EP is rounded off with a playable demo of the game. “Star Wars is great because it was an alternate fantasy world for our whole
generation and it's fantastic that it's happened again. Being on the game is a dream come true and a great honour to be the first outside music....it's the closet we'll get to being in our favourite films." ASH.
Meanwhile back on earth time, Ash are currently criss crossing America with the Bravery in tow on a series of headline dates in support of the US release of 'Meltdown' as well as celebrating St Patrick's Day with a show at this year's South By South West festival in Austin Texas.
'Evil Eye' is released on April 11th and will only be available online from all good retailers.
