SMILE TO SHINE

Another star is born ...

With a jazz musician for a father, the UK's original female rap artist, Monie Love, for a sister, and DJ' Producer Dave Angel for a brother, fame is something BAZ grew up around ... now its her turn.

The debut BAZ single, Believers, crashed into the top 40 during the first week of Decemeber last year and suddenly she was on radio 1, Radio 2, CD:UK, the Big Breakfast and scoring Essential New Tunes with Pete Tong. Another Star is born...

'Tipped to be one of the hottest stars of 2002 with her sing-a-long vocals, positivism, sheer sunshine and warmth. Baz is determined that these great songs will find a place in everyone's heart.'

(Ministry Of Sound)

'Smile To Shine was inspired by the sun,' says BAZ, 'the intense feeling of appreciating the inner life came over me like a heat wave. I was just sitting in the park with some of my family and friends, analyzing everything around me. You know, children playing, people smiling, sun is shining and then the words came. I wrote the melody a couple of times with my guitarist untill I was content it was the right one. the concept was strong and I was taking it all in, the intense feeling of appreciating inner life on a bigger scale, it was like a universal summer's day.'

Smile To Shine was produced by Guy Sigsworth (Seal, Madonna) and is accompanied by a stunnig mix package. The Kings Of tomorrow deliver a soulful and uplifting mix while Problem Kids unleash some top-notch house. Sandy & Haze get serious with a deep driving tribal mix while Ambassador are solid enough for the house heads and tuff e-nuff for the Techno boys.

Smile To Shine is set for release through One Little Indian on 18th March 2002
