DJ DECKS AND FX - PS2 REVIEW

First of all don't think for one minute you'll be able to spin the decks for real after playing DJ Decks & FX sim, because you won't! its a game with a good insight into the DJing but its a game all the same. So don't go giving The Ministry of Sound a call just yet!

What you do get for your £39.99 rather than the £1,000 it would cost for some replica decks is a fun DJ sim with all the necessary gizmos, with enough FX to keep you happy if incessant beats played over and over again is your thing (its not mine! but hey who am I to judge).

DJ Decks & FX isn't complicated and you can be banging out rare grooves within minutes. You are set up with a complete DJ package compromising of around 60 plus tracks to play around with. The decks are easily accessible and to navigate around just by pressing X button it lets you zoom into a particular part of the decks may it be the LOOPS, SAMPLER, FX UNIT, EQ UNIT, CROSSFADE and the two DECKS.

So basically once you have picked the two tracks to spin its up to your imagination and creativity for what sound you want. Overall it will give you an idea of what DJing is all about especially in PRO Mode, where you do a set totally on your own without the aid of pre set fade ins and track changes etc.

The one worry about this sim is the fact that all the tracks are of the same or similar genre and it doesn't allow you to upload your own tunes into the mix, which makes it a little restrictive because you will get tired of hearing the same tracks.

It is however impressive enough and enjoyable enough DJing sim but for how long? That is the ultimate question.
