Elbow ‘Not a Job’ - Single Review

Not a Job

Singer Guy Garvey’s Northern, raw voice seems at odds with the lovely, melodic music Elbow play but a bit of contrast never hurt anyone and in fact, this works in their favour. This is a deceptively simple track taken from the last album ‘Cast of Thousands’ about sleeping rough and Garvey’s way with words is great. My only complaint with it is it does go rambling sometimes and drags on a bit, but apart from that ‘Not a Job’ is well worth listening to.
