One of the most highly acclaimed new artists to arrive at the back end of 2002 is Camden native 'Just' Jack Allsopp.

Jack's debut album, 'The Outer Marker' was released at the end of last year to glowing reviews...Q magazine said: "'The Outer Marker' is a highly lyrical affair...the album is bursting with ideas and there's plenty to admire". The Independent said: "The Streets with a decent tune. It's a quintessentially modern British sound".

Growing up in Camden provided Jack with a rich background of culture and music to create his own unique sound. It's part old school hip hop, part Massive Attack but mostly it's about strong songs and melodies. Lyrically Jack has based his songs on personal experiences and observations while growing up in London and living in France for a summer.

'Snowflakes' is the track that everyone who has raved about Jack says is a 'massive tune'. It's a lyrically dark, melancholic epic with sweeping strings and infectious chorus. The cd features mixes by xfm's Eddie Temple Morris, Terminalhead and Riton. Originally the track was given the 'bootleg' treatment by xfm main man Eddie Temple Morris for his remix show. After the first play it has created an incredible vibe and is currently enjoying rabid attention at the station and a massive underground buzz is beginning to stir club land. RG Records heard about the buzz on the mix, contacted Eddie and Robert Smith and both have granted permission to use the track on the single.

Eddie Temple Morris: "I really loved the original version of 'Snowflakes' and always thought it would make a great mix. One day I heard The Cure's 'Lullaby' on Ian Canfield's show and realised that it was a perfect match".

Riton: "For this mix I've tried to fuse 17th century acid house with The Beach Boys and Bob James. I think I may have fallen slighty short of it but have made up for it by adding lots of loud noises."

Terminalhead have completely warped the original version and turned it into a distinctive breakbeat mash up using only a fraction of Jack's vocal. Both the Riton and Terminalhead versions are starting to generate intense dancefloor action.

Jack is currently in the studio rehearsing with a band for live work in early
2003.

Snowflakes is released February 17th on RGR.
