Favourite Girl ( 15/08/05 Names Records)

The glossy retro indie rockers King Creosote will have The Byrds lovers flocking.With this Fife outfit adding a longing harmonica and hint of Justin Currie vocals on opener ‘Jumping The Cats’ they have produced a fun and lasting song to be proud of. The tingling five minute plus, acoustic led ode to love that is ‘Favourite Girl’ displays tenderness and feeling in the vein of Tom McCrae. The lyrics are meaningful and emotive;

“Better listen closely, I guess that I have not got long;

promise you’ll tell her she’s my favourite girl.”

Aaaawww, pass the tissues. King Creosote’s debut album; ‘KC Rules OK’ that is due for release 05/09/05, could be the perfect companion for the long autumn nights that loom ahead.
