New single ‘further’
Release date: august 1

Manchester’s Long-View , are set to release a new single mix of ‘Further’ on August 1 through 14 th Floor Records. Originally released as a limited edition EP, and a former Jo Whiley Single of the Week, ‘Further’ is taken from Long-View’s critically acclaimed debut album Mercury . The single release will include two new tracks as B-sides, ‘Jealousy’ and ‘I Want A Reaction’, and will be made available on CD Single, 7” and as a download.

In their brief time in the public eye, Manchester’s Long-View - Rob McVey (vocals), Doug Morch (guitar), Aidan Banks (bass) and Matt Dabbs (drums) - have stepped round the distractions of scenes and posturing to release a run of beautifully crafted singles and one exquisite debut album, establishing a clear identity for the band as genuine communicators rather than this week’s circus acts. Late 2004 and the start of 2005 has seen Long-View make a full connection. Alongside two sell out UK tours – including two sold out gigs at the Mean Fiddler – and tours with Embrace and the Doves, the band’s recent fan club gig at London’s Scala led the Independent to write, ‘A blinder of a set…vocal harmonies that send shivers down the spine and big choruses that could fill a stadium… Majestic.’

In the US, Long-View are about to break thousands of hearts in the States having signed to Columbia Records. Following a SXSW performance lauded by Rolling Stone, Billboard and Fader, promo copies of ‘Further’ led to the track reaching No.1 on Specialist Alternative Radio throughout March. The band have just completed a ten-date sell out tour of the US and are currently on tour with Embrace.
