Born in 1975 in Flatbush, Brooklyn, Talib Kweli Greene is the eldest of two sons. He was an avid reader and gifted writer. Befitting, since his name, Talib Kweli, in Arabic means student of truth.
In 1998 Kweli teamed up with fellow emcee Mos Def to record and release Mos Def And Talib Kweli Are Black Star (1998). The Black Star collaboration was heralded by hip hop lovers and artists alike as one of the best albums of the decade.
Kweli's maturity as an artist is evident as Quality delves into an even greater variety of subject matters, with a skillful infusion of braggadocio as one of the industry's leading emcees: Flippant at every turn, he knocks heads over again and again on "Shock Body" where he states
