TAZ - New single ‘Cant Contain Me’ released on Def Jam records – June 14th 2004

Already dubbed the UK’s answer to Kanye West, fast Rising UK artist Taz releases his full debut single ‘Cant Contain Me’ on June 14th on Def Jam UK, followed by his debut album ‘Analyze This’ on June 28th. ‘Can’t Contain Me’ brings a pulsing electronic beat and an infectious melody to the mix that will infest your headspace for weeks to come. Taz makes contemporary urban music; he twists and squeezes between genres, sounds and movements, and is about to unleash his unique sound on an unsuspecting music scene.

Some might know 23year old Taz as Co-producer of 'Just A Rascal' and co-hort of last year's most universally acclaimed new artist Dizzee Rascal, but this year Taz looks set to step

into the spotlight in his own right. Jamaican born, where he lived periodically through his childhood, growing up there and in Oval, South London. Taz’ story isn’t your average one, but a triumph over adversity and situation, assisted by self belief, hours of blood, sweat, tears and hard work

‘Cant Contain Me’ follows the overwhelming success of his two limited edition 12” white labels ‘Only God Can Judge Me’ and ‘Wish Me Luck’ that have been tearing up dancefloors and radio shows since late last year. Now signed up to Def Jam, Taz has set about creating a timeless debut album that tells his story and document’s 21st Century life in this country. Wide eyed contemporary soul, realistic social reportage, thought provoking lyricism, sonically evocative and explorative sounds all clash with gritty tough hip hop breaks, the odd heavy guitar riff, and plenty more invention, good ideas and personal expression

It’s true to say that UK urban music in 2004, has experienced somewhat of a renaissance, the mainstream media has adopted the underground in the name of cutting edge- but like his affiliate Dizzee Rascal, Taz has evolved his own style
That fits from the underground to the dancefloor to your i-pod. His debut album really doesn’t sound like anything else you will hear all year so sit back and relax and prepare to be blown away…

Taz will be appearing up and down the country over the next few months, be sure not miss any of these low-key early shows.
