On 5 th September 2005 Vertigo Records release ‘Once In A While’, the brand new single from The Black Velvets. ‘Once In A While’ is taken from the band’s eponymous debut album which is released on the 12 th September. Already firmly established as a live favourite ‘Once In A While’ displays all the hallmarks of The Black Velvetsno nonsense glam punk rock! Driving guitars, pounding drums and an anthemic chorus all combined with the swagger and attitude that sets them apart from the pack.

It’s been a rollercoaster year for the band having supported The Who, The Killers, John Squire, Razorlight and most recently Mtley Cre as well as enjoying the sunshine of the Isle of Wight festival and defying the elements by performing on the Other Stage on ‘that’ Friday at this year’s Glastonbury. In between all that they have recorded their debut album in a remote studio in Ireland… it’s much safer when they are away from temptation.

The video for ‘Once In A While’ is a stunning combination of animation, girls and guitars that fully represents the power of the song. The single will be backed by exclusive tracks on all the formats which will be over two CD’s and as a limited edition plectrum shaped picture disc! The Black Velvets continue their live assault with upcoming performances at the Fuji Rock Festival in Japan and at the Reading/Leeds Carling Weekend.
