Travis - Walking In The Sun - Video/Audio Streams

Travis have plenty to celebrate. In 1996, Independiente signed a young band from Glasgow called Travis on the strength of some demos and a limited edition single release on the band’s own label. Eight years on and Travis have amassed four top 10 albums (including two number one albums), fifteen top 40 hits, three Brit Awards, an Ivor Novello, made headlining appearances at Glastonbury, Reading, T In The Park and V Festivals, won numerous plaudits, triumphed over adversity in the wake of Neil Primrose’s near fatal accident and sold over 4 million albums in the UK.

And celebrating is just what Travis intend to do with the release of Travis: Singles, a collection of all their singles to date, plus an accompanying DVD, both set for release on November 1st.

Travis: Singles bookmarks the end of one era and the start of another for one of the UK’s most popular bands. It’s been a remarkable journey so far and one in which Travis have never lost touch with their audience. From the release of debut single All I Want To Do Is Rock via top ten hits Why Does It Always Rain On Me?, Turn, Coming Around and Sing through to Re-Offender, the band have consistently engaged with their public and not surprisingly, are widely regarded as Everyman’s band.

The album features a recently recorded brand new track, Walking In The Sun, a slice of breezy melodic pop and Travis at their best. The track was produced and mixed by long time collaborators Mike Hedges and Nigel Godrich and will be released as a single in advance of the album on October 18th. Further details on the single will be announced shortly.

The full track listing for the album is as follows:

Sing; Driftwood; Writing To Reach You; Why Does It Always Rain On Me?; Re-Offender; Walking In The Sun; Tied To The 90’s; Coming Around; Flowers In The Window; Love Will Come Through; More Than Us; Side; U16 Girls; Happy; All I Want To Do Is Rock; The Beautiful Occupation; Turn.

The accompanying DVD is another must for Travis fans. In addition to all the band’s videos to date shown in chronological order, it also features previously unseen footage, “the making of” several of their best videos and special one off performances from throughout the band’s career. The home video footage features personal moments including; the final recording stages of debut album Good Feeling; Dougie impersonating Richard Ashcroft; some impressive fretwork from Andy and an amusing guided tour of Abbey Road studios from Messrs Healy and Payne. Stand out live performances include Why Does It Always Rain On Me? from their headline Glastonbury show in 2000; The Beautiful Occupation from the 2003 MTV Europe Music Awards and Fran and Dougie’s spellbinding rendition of Hit Me Baby One More Time from VH1’s Storytellers.

Travis are currently back in the studio working on their fifth album, the follow up to 12 Memories, due for release next year.

The single 'Walking In The Sun' is released on the 18th October.

The album and DVD 'Singles' are released on the 1st of November.
