Actress/model Pamela Anderson has thrown her weight behind a campaign to stop the extradition of an "environmental hero" from the U.S.
The former Baywatch star is backing Captain Paul Watson, founder of the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society, who has been issued with two Interpol Red Notices at the request of officials in Costa Rica and Japan.
Watson has angered the governments of both nations over the years after a series of exploits to protect marine wildlife got him into deep water with authorities.
Last year (12), Watson skipped bail after an arrest in Frankfurt, Germany at the Costa Rican government's request and Interpol issued a Red Notice requesting his re-arrest. A second Red Notice was issued following a request by officials in Japan.
Now Anderson has taken to Facebook.com to post a link to the campaign to spare Watson, and she is urging her fans to sign a petition against his extradition.
