Paris Hilton is auctioning off a bottle of her perfume for charity.

The reality TV star is raising money for gay rights group the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), by selling a bottle of her Dazzle fragrance to the highest bidder on eBay.

Paris, 31, has teamed with website Hollyscoop.com for the auction and the winner will receive a one-off bottle of the scent which has been specially decorated in crystals by the former 'The Simple Life' star.

The eBay web page reads: ''Hollyscoop received a private invitation from Paris Hilton to raid her closet! Paris let us take her 16th fragrance from her closet which she personally decorated with crystals. All of the money from this auction will be given to the charity of her choice which is GLAAD.''

The hotel heiress - who has released 16 fragrances in total - also plugged the auction on her Twitter page, writing: ''Auction for my latest fragrance, Dazzle, decorated by me. All money will be donated to @GLAAD. #Charity.''

The perfume bottle has thus far attracted bids of $2,275.

Paris issued an apology through GLAAD last year after an audio recording of the socialite, in which she made controversial comments about gay men contracting HIV, was leaked online.

She said in the statement: ''As anyone close to me knows, I always have been and always will be a huge supporter of the gay community. I am so sorry and so upset that I caused pain to my gay friends, fans and their families with the comments heard this morning.

''HIV/AIDS can hurt anyone, gay and straight, men and women. It's something I take very seriously and should not have been thrown around in conversation.''
