British actress Parminder Nagra is upset prison drama Alcatraz was axed after just one season because fans have been left hanging about plotlines on the show.
J.J. Abrams' series about the mysterious reappearance of prisoners and guards who 'vanished' from their cells in America's infamous Alcatraz prison in the 1960s, was cancelled by bosses at the Fox network in May (12) due to dwindling viewing figures.
Makers of the show kept the storylines shrouded in secrecy, and Nagra, who played a sinister doctor with a past, admits she is saddened by the axe because now fans will never know what happens to the characters.
She tells Bbc's Newsbeat, "We only did 13 episodes. It would have been nice to have another 13 episodes - that would have been fantastic, so people at least know what the hell was going on."
"Even I was going, 'I want to know what's going on,' because no one ever told us anything. My interviews on that were generally limited to 'I've no idea!'
"I've grilled them (show creators) quite extensively (since it was axed). They were saying some really cool, interesting stuff. I was like, 'I don't want to hear that now.' It was all the more gutting for me."
