Crooner Pat Boone has brought together a host of stars for a video tribute to US evangelist BILLY GRAHAM.

The born-again-Christian singer invited Bono, Leann Rimes, Kenny Rogers and MICHAEL MCDONALD, among others, to join him in the studio to record WE ARE THE WORLD-type tune THANK YOU, BILLY GRAHAM and he has turned the project into a new video homage.

The 86-year-old preacher current US tour is likely to be his last, and Boone felt it was time to honour Graham, who has brought hope and happiness to millions.

Boone says, "I was surprised that no one had thought to pay tribute in music to this great man before and I knew it was time.

"He has brought so many people across the world closer to God. We owe him a huge debt of gratitude."

Boone admits he was particularly thrilled when U2 frontman Bono agreed to participate: "I said, 'I think it's time Boone-o met Bono.'"

The tribute video performance opens with Bono's perspective, lauding Graham's global influence, and then rolls into a montage highlighting the evangelist's impressive career and the notable figures who have looked to him for spiritual guidance.
