Paula Abdul thinks Simon Cowell's baby will ''change his life''.

The 51-year-old star - who was on the judging panel alongside the media mogul on 'X Factor' USA in 2011 and before on 'American Idol' - thinks fatherhood will have a positive effect on Simon and she also believes the 53-year-old businessman who is expecting his first child with New York socialite Lauren Silverman will be a patient father.

Speaking on 'THE LOWDOWN with DIANA MADISON', the brunette beauty said: ''[Simon will be] very, very patient and he may quit smoking!

''I think it's wonderful. I think it's going to change his life for the better.''

Simon is known for his stern and honest attitude and Paula doesn't think fatherhood will soften him up.

Probed on whether Simon will be nicer to people she replied: ''No, never!''

Demi Lovato - who is currently a judge of on 'X Factor' USA alongside Simon - previously revealed fatherhood has melted his cold heart making him less mean-spirited on the show.
