The 1991 release is now the 15th bestselling album of the SoundScan era, which began in 1991.

Metallica's self-titled album from the same year is the best-selling U.S. album of the past 22 years - it has sold 15.86 million copies.

Shania Twain's Come On Over is in second place, while Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill is third.
