Rocker Pete Doherty has settled a plagiarism lawsuit with a British poet out of court.
Nick Toczek accused the Babyshambles frontman of stealing lyrics for the track Baddie's Boogie from his 1983 poem Stiff With a Quiff, which he recorded with his punk band The Burial.
Reports suggest Toczek's lawyers have negotiated an out of court settlement with Doherty's management following a five-year legal battle over the lyrics.
Doherty's ex-girlfriend, supermodel Kate Moss, who was initially credited as a co-writer on the track has already been replaced by Toczek.
The poet tells the Daily Mail, "It is daft because if Pete Doherty had just picked up the phone and rung me and said, 'Can we use your lyrics?' I would have said, 'Yes, just give me a credit.'"
The settlement comes a week after it was reported that Doherty had been thrown out of rehab in Thailand.
