Philip Seymour Hoffman was left panicked at the premiere of his directorial debut JACK GOES BOATING in New York City on Thursday night (16Sep10) after one of his friends fainted on the red carpet.
The Oscar-winner was preparing to screen his new movie, which sees him step behind the camera for the first time, at the New York Yacht Club when one of his pals from the Labyrinth Theater Company passed out.
A witness tells the New York Daily News the unnamed man looked "green and ashy" before collapsing and "a crowd started to gather in a circle" before Hoffman noticed the commotion and rushed over to help.
The Capote star is said to have waited with his pal until medics arrived and then helped him out of the venue.
