Pierce Brosnan offered his JAMES BOND successor Daniel Craig words of encouragement in the days leading up to Craig's appointment in October (05).

Despite his bitterness at being dropped as the superspy, Brosnan enjoyed bonding with Craig over a few drinks and gave the 37-year-old advice on how to play 007 in forthcoming Bond movie Casino Royale.

Brosnan, 52, says, "I know the guy. We've gone out and we talked about it before the whole world knew about it.

"We had many beers over it and laughed and I wished him well. I just told him to have a good time with it, embrace it, enjoy it and travel through with his head high."
