Brosnan Suffers Pre-Film Jitters
Actor Pierce Brosnan was so riddled with doubts over the script for AFTER THE SUNSET, he "lost faith" in the movie days before cameras were due to roll.
The Irish screen star struggled to find the best way to portray his character in the crime caper and feared the premise for the movie was not as strong as he'd originally imagined, so was reduced to a nervous wreck in the build-up to the shoot.
He says, "I love heist movies and caper movies and I could sense something in there that had the legs to be entertaining, but just before filming I would lose faith in it. I just thought maybe it's not going to be quite what I expected and I was trying to find the character.
"I was also very aware that I was in a heist movie and I didn't want it to be like THE THOMAS CROWN AFFAIR so I really just had this general... actor's neuroses, like this nervous energy going before the cameras. But Brett was a tower of strength from day one and all the way to the end."22/11/2004 21:18
