British actresses Natascha McElhone and Julie Walters mentored a group of school children in London on Friday (10Oct14) to celebrate the United Nation's (U.N.) International Day of the Girl, which takes place on Saturday (11Oct14).

The celebrities spend the day at the Southbank Centre in the capital tutoring female pupils from Dunraven School in Streatham, south London about their futures to mark the third annual international day, which raises awareness of gender inequality.

After their mentoring was complete, the actresses took the girls for a ride on the London Eye ferris wheel and posed for 'selfies' with them.

Other mentors included authors Kathy Lette and Rachel Johnson, plus Olympic medal-winning athlete Christine Ohuruogu.
