The existing members of Pink Floyd stunned fans at a Roger Waters concert in London on Thursday night (12May11) by joining the rocker onstage.
Rumours of a group reunion have been swirling for months, but David Gilmour and Nick Mason's appearance onstage at Waters' The Wall show at the 02 Arena was still a big surprise, even though the guitarist leaked news of the get together on his official fan blog hours before the sold-out show.
The trio played together for only the second time in the last 30 years when they teamed up to perform Pink Floyd classic Comfortably Numb.
Fans went crazy at the sight of the rock icons together.
Gilmour and Mason returned to the stage at the climax of the show to perform Outside the Wall with Waters; guitarist Gilmour performed his epic solo from the top of the Wall set.
The trio last performed together at Live 8 in 2005.
Thursday's reunion will not be repeated any time soon - in his blog post, Gilmour insisted, "Tonight is most definitely a one-off... I’m sorry to disappoint those of you with fingers crossed and tickets for later shows."
